Hello.

The short story is : I'm a newly formed sound designer for video game, from the ISTDS school in Montreal, Canada.

If you want to know more, let's go!

So, I'm a 28 years old french student in sound design but I had some nice experiences in the past.

I discovered the digital music production and DAWs by my own when I was 20. I was guitarist in a band (making a kind of alternative rock music) and I get SONAR.

In this time I was working in the french administration and I was thinking to simply have fun in music like a hobby.

Later when I discovered the whole potential of 'making sound' I was in the need to learn how to do correctly things and the job started to be boring. So I found a school for 2 years long, in Montpellier, with technical and artistic program.

I learned Pro tools, the studio recording techniques, mixing with analog and digital console (Midas vienna 400, Yamaha M7CL), editing foleys and sfx for video (by using soundbanks or recording with digital recorder)  but, above all, how to compose music for communicate emotion. The subjects were a story, a painting, a sculpture, a planet, an idea, a dream?

After, how to isolate the good emotion of a movie and how to transmit it with sound.

During my studies I experienced two major skills when I was in Internship. At first, I was boom operator and sound engineer for a web series called Mordred.

Two month of production, I had a Zoom H-6, a Shotgun microphone (Rode NTG) and 2 Sennheiser Lavalier microphone and no time for sleeping :)

The second experience was at the UVI Company, making a sample based virtual instrument, dedicated to the new sampler, Falcon.

The raw material was the Casio CZ-1 (distortion phase synthesis) and I recorded every factory presets. Then, cleaning with Izotope Rx, editing and defining loops and finally integration with Lua and Python Script in the sampler.

After this, I took the opportunity to be specialised in video game, because I like this, in coming at Montreal to take lessons with incredible people and professionals from the industry as Karl Lamoureux, Francois Lafleur, Jeremy Gavoille and many others.

I discovered the world of integration and creation of audio system and I like it a lot. We have to imitate how life sounds with technical and budget constraints and we constantly find solutions to resolve problems, It's a permanent challenge.
